Once again we started the day off right with chocolate cake and fruit. Damian joined us for the fruit. We headed into Beverly Hills for the morning. We started off at rodeo drive, and drove around the pottery barn a couple of times looking for it's parking lot (having heard you can park for free there). After failing to find the parking lot, we learned that most lots in Beverly hills offer free parking for the first two hours. So, score. :)

Gaudi house |
We walked down rodeo drive pretending that we had the money to buy things in the chic stores, and that we'd spend that kind of money on clothes even if we did have it. After a few blocks, the stores gave way to beautiful houses with flowers and very expensive cars. We admired a house designed by architect Gaudi. Apparently he has designed many houses in Barcelona. It is leslie's favorite house on rodeo drive. (P.S. I just this second learned that chic is pronounced sheek. Learning something new every day.) :)

NOT John Deere |
We drove next to the walk of fame, and saw famous people's stars like The Village People and the Rugrats. And the we saw John Deere, which was exciting because tricia's aunt likes him. We tried to take a photo of ourselves on the ground next to the star, and a couple ladies walking by tookmpity on us and took our picture. As they were handing the camera back, one asked, "who is that, Bo derek's husband?" And we said, no, it's the tractor company.......... And then we looked down and saw it was actually John Derek we were so excited about. Mutual dyslexia. And a little embarrassing. Maybe a lot embarrassing.

Being told about Scientology |
As we continued walking, a man outside a store was offering free stress tests and personality tests. I love this kind of stiff, and was super excited to try it out. As we walked in, Tricia whispered, "oh...this is a Scientology center." Well, how bad could it be, right? We started the stress test, which was completely awesome for exactly 30 seconds. And then he asked me what I was thinking when the needle spiked, and why was I stressed, was it a usual thing with me, did I have poor communication with people, etc etc etc. I was so so so so disappointed that he didn't really want to play with the stress test toy. He actually wanted to introduce me to scientology, and I was sad. Tricia helped me to extricate myself, I promised to look up L Ron Hubbard's book, and we ran back off into the street.

Strawberry |
We had seen a farmer's market on the other side of hollywood blvd, and wondered through it for the next hour. We bought ourselves a strawberry lemonade, a pint of strawberries, and three crazy looking heart shaped organic kiwis. I also tried an orange sample (after all, Tricia had tried the artichoke). It's probably been 15 years since I've eaten an orange, and I actually found them to be surprisingly good! Maybe I just don't like Florida oranges.
The thought was there. That would have been really cool if it had been John Deere. Looks like you guys are covering a lot of ground and seeing and doing a lot of things. Keep on having fun!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is going on with this post? You don't know how to pronounce chic? You don't eat oranges?? And you saw the stars of famous people..."like the village people and the rugrats." That made me laugh out loud. Also, again I say, we are not related.
ReplyDeleteHahaha.....rugrats and the village people was a joke!!
ReplyDeleteThe oranges and chic not so much. :)
