Atlanta - 3/6/2011

pictures from day 32
Abby, my old friend, was gracious enough to let us catch up on some sleep and blog posting before we began our day.  Our next step was calling another old friend of mine, Mike.  He, Abby, Kat and I met up at the Flying Biscuit in Midtown Atlanta for some brunch.  It was a chilly, windy day and the wait was outside... and really long.  One exciting moment came when the hostess thought the wait list sheet had blown away.  She called on people to use the honor system and for the couples who had been there the longest to go in next.  The paper was finally found and whatdyaknow, those people had been next on the list.  Yay for them. We were also the next four top and it was finally our turn.

The room was hustlin' and bustlin' with people flying all over.  Thankfully, the only biscuits flying were those painted on the wall (yes, a funny, laugh or slap your knee).  Mike and Abby went with the weekend special, biscuits and eggs.  Kat and I decided to split the eggstravaganza (eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast with orange/berry yumminess, a biscuit and creamy, dreamy grits).  It was all delicious and filling!

Next up was a tour of the city.  Wait, Abby was dropped off and Mike walked from his place, so that means... Four people in our car?  Have you seen pictures of our insanely full car??  It took a bit of fancy maneuvering but we finally got it ready.  Next up was a drive through some of the different areas of Atlanta.  It was pretty cool how diverse the city was.  Also cool were some of the remnants from the Olympics back in 1996.  Mike had to get back to being a crazy chemistry person and we headed back to Abby's to pick up Juliet.

The International Market was our last stop in Atlanta and wow, was it neat.  There was food from all around the world, fresh and decently priced.  The bakery was actually amazingly cheap and so we had to try a few things.  They were yuuuumy.  We also got a few apples for the road and were soon on our way.  The drive to Greensboro was pretty uneventful, though my throat started to ache.  We got there around 11pm and chatted for a while with Kat's friends Glen and Kathleen over roast and potatoes.  Also yummy.  A bit of gargling with salt water and day 32 came to an end.
